An automotive manufacturer’s HSE department wanted operators to experience plant risks in a safe virtual environment — closer to an interactive videogame than a classroom course.
The Challenge
The HSE department needed highly realistic immersive training reproducing actual plant environments and typical risks. Two needs: a virtual body-in-white / sheet-metal line where operators learn safe access to robotized areas,
hazard recognition, correct PPE and line preparation for maintenance; and a forklift driving simulation for warehouse logistics addressing bulky loads, limited visibility, and collision risk with pedestrians and automated vehicles.
The Kairos3D Solution
Kairos3D built two first-person immersive applications. The robotized-line module reproduces the sheet-metal production line — cells, access points, barriers and machinery — teaching safe approach, hazard and restricted-zone recognition, PPE selection and the correct maintenance-preparation sequence.
The forklift module recreates logistics aisles, storage, pedestrian routes and automated vehicles, letting users drive and experience the consequences of load size, blind spots and proximity to people. Both are intentionally game-like to maximize attention and memorization.
